I used to be very regular

Not disciplined mind you - but certain 'things' were very dependable. However, for the last year or so, I've struggled to settle into even the most basic of patterns and I wonder if my behavior is reflecting my physiology or vice versa...

That being said, my spiritual, financial and physical well being have been on auto-pilot for some time now, able to coast on varying levels of previous 'deposits' whether self-initiated or not. Prayer especially has been a challenge. I love praying with a group of guys at bible study - or with my son at night, but when it comes to having my 'quiet time' in the 'prayer closet' or praying with my wife, I found myself digging in my heels and stubbornly refusing to engage.

While I still am searching for the 'silver bullet' that will slay my reluctance to join my lovely wife before the throne of God, He has mysteriously and graciously given me insight to dispel my dread of solo prayer. If you're curious, ask me about it - I have a feeling this struggle may be quite common for my generation (X), a generation of kids accustomed to overstimulation and not familiar or desirous of meditation and solitude.

Feel free to share your prayer experience with me - I suspect the problem may rest in heightened expectations and I would be curious to know what the rest of the body considers normative.
